Your answers to these questions will help you figure out how well-suited you are for being a representative. Following are qualities you need to succeed in sales as an Avon Representative.
In a salaried job, someone gives you a schedule, expectations and time frames. The supervisor checks your work to be sure you finished it with a certain level of quality. Working for Avon, the district manager generally does not become involved in scheduling your activities, nor checking that you have completed those activities, nor evaluating your work. Successful salespeople become their own managers from the start, planning their week schedule and motivating themselves to JUST DO IT!
Since no one (except you) checks with you to see if you call customers back and finish what you start, you must exhibit great tenacity in your work. As you talk to people you get customers, you will hear “no” more than “yes”. The ability to bounce back and keep going until you reach the desired outcome is paramount to your Avon Representative success.
Avon Representatives who jump right in and start finding customers, even though they don’t have all the Avon product knowledge they think they need, have a much better chance of making money before their savings run out. They will tackle the biggest challenges fast, because they are willing to take a risk, fail--and learn. 4.ACCOUNTABILITY TO YOURSELF Planning your week, working your plan and measuring the results of your plan ensure your success. You become indepen- dent. Don’t procrastinate and seek comfort in organizational activities and research. Go out and knock on doors, make the telephone calls, constantly talk to EVERYONE about AVON. 5. RELIABILITY TO OTHERS Have people told you that they knew they could always rely on you? Reliability is so important to your Avon success. Your customers will ask themselves, “ Is she/he reliable?” “Can I trust him/her?” They will draw their conclusions by remembering whether you kept your promises. Building trust and confidence with the public is a series of kept promises, each small, individually, but adding up to a value judgment about the individual. The public rate trustworthiness as a most important attribute consumers want in a salesperson. Call 401-725-5608 to apply
